A swarm is a division of an existing bee hive that is looking for a new home.

A swarm will need to be collected as quick as possible as they typically find a new home within 1-3 days, Once they move into their home and start building the bees are then considered a bee hive.

I'm still not sure if I have a swarm or hive?

• If the bees have been there a week or more it is a hive.

• If the bees are flying in and out of a hole in your house, tree, or building then it's a hive
